SALT SURF- Seaweed 1.0. 2022
Seaweed 1.0- Campaign Direction, Photography and Design
The following is a selection of work from the Seaweed 1.0 collection for SALT SURF. The campaign was launched in the spring of 2022. The collection began with a series of cyanotype prints made from seaweed collected on the shores of Los Angeles beaches. These prints were then digitized and turned into the collection for SALT SURF. The goal in launching and promoting the campaign, was to highlight the apparel while also showing the original raw cyanotype prints. Further the direction for the campaign was to represent the raw, natural, free feeling of summer in the post pandemic era.

SMASHBOX COSMETICS. 2019
Art Direction for 360 Campaign
The goal of this campaign was to introduce (for the first time) a skincare product into the world of Smashbox’s previously exclusively beauty world- with the launch of their Vitamin Glow Primer. The brand had previously never dipped into the world of skincare, so the challenge was to convey the natural, clean girl aesthetic for a decidedly make-up heavy brand. All models were dressed in simple, clean, all white looks with minimal jewelry to convey this new direction for the brand. All models were also photographed in a light makeup daytime look, and then returned to hair and makeup to have their look dialed up for a night-time look (more true to the brand’s typical aesthetic).

Nabil was the lead Art Director on this campaign. All aspects of the campaign from creative direction, model selection, on set-direction and campaign rollout were handled by Nabil.

In addition to the campaign creative, Nabil also designed the packaging for Vitamin Glow Primer. The text treatment became a standardized treatment for Smashbox, with several other products following the new direction.
